Course Reflection

This class was very interesting to me. Although I have taken several online classes before, I was a bit apprehensive at first mainly because this was my first online technology class. I also thought I would be overwhelmed by the assignment load, but once I got settled in, this course went relatively smooth. The most interesting part of the course to me was the Movie Maker assignment. I enjoyed putting the pictures together to make my movie. The concept map was probably the easiest for me to complete while the Webtools was definitely the most difficult. I really enjoyed putting together this blogfolio. I heard people all the time talking about blogs, but I was clueless up until now. I thoroughly enjoyed taking this course and I feel that I have learned the ability to apply technology in a variety of ways. The instructor was very helpful in this course. She was very quick to answer any questions asked.

Assistive Technology Case Study

The assistive technology case study was easy once I found a partner. The hardest thing was just to make time to do it. Answering the questions was not hard. I worked with Ms. Melinda Spiers. Using Google documents was confusing to me. I learned a lot from this project.

Website

The Website project was very challenging for me. This was my first time using this program. I feel like I can use this in the future. The next time I make a website I think I can get more indepth with it. Looking up websites gave me a lot of information for the future. Check out my website. http://sites.google.com/site/crazywacksite/

Turnitin

This was a very different project for me. Getting started was a challenge because I was unfamiliar with this type of website. Once I got things figured our, the second time around, everything turned out okay. I found it very interesting because I never realized the specific attention given to plagarism. This assignment actually turned out to be one of the easiest of the semester.

WebTools

The Web Tools assignment was the hardest for me. The quiz was the only thing I did right at first. The rubric was easy but I saved it wrong. The TrakStar is a great program to use for elementary students. I like this program because it keeps the students in one area while searching for materials. Here is my rubrics http://docs.google.com/Doc?docid=0ATGk-X3hEbzYZGduM2pkNTZfNWQ0dnJ0bmNm&hl=en I could not get my TrakStar and quiz to download.

Google Groups

This assignment was fairly easy, but you really had to pay attention to the directions. I wasn't the leader of our group. I like to be a follower. I didn't realize you could do so many things with a Google account. Check out my Google Group. http://groups.google.com/group/group-threediscussion

This was a very fun and nerve racking task for me. I have never used Windows Movie Maker before. My edition of Movie Maker was different from the handout. I had a hard time saving it as a .wmv movie file. I finally figured it out, I had to publish the movie to save it as a .wmv file. The music drowns out the narration, not sure how to fix that. I will use this again. This was definitely a learning experience for me.
